Robin Logan
oil paint on canvas, 24 X 18”, 2018
We’d be nowhere without the first family of skateboarding. Robin started skating when she was only five years old after her older brother put her on a skateboard. In the 1970’s she had her own signature skateboard model and became professional competing against boys and winning contests in barrel riding and half-pipe (which was something that girls traditionally did not do). Everything that happened in skateboarding after this point was basically built on the foundation and legacy that Robin and her family contributed to the sport. Even today, Robin is steadfastly working to promote the sport through her family’s company Logan Earth & Ski re-known for their traditional 70’s solid oak wood skateboards. Robin was inducted into the Skateboarding Hall of Fame in 2015 and also has donated personal skateboard memorabilia to the Smithsonian.
