We are the weeds that grow here with reckless abandonment. Wild as nature we lay down our roots sinking them deeper into the earth.
We grow here despite the apathy and disgust thrown upon us like blankets in the night. We grow here despite being ridiculed.
We grow here despite attempts at uprooting us. We grow here despite our intolerant ugliness and lowly status.
We grow here through desert heat, hot winds and scantily clad rain.
We grow here despite being constantly trampled upon. We’re passed over, overlooked and under-estimated. Unappreciatedly we grow here.
And patiently we wait...until the perfect moment to take advantage of all of these things that mean to tear us down and break us and we use them to our advantage.
With every kiss from the sun our roots grow stronger and grow deeper forging past all others. With the wind at our backs our fertile seeds like wishes from a child are dispersed from this desolate patch of earth and we will spread ourselves as far and as wide into the great unknown.
